Legal Aid NSW’s office directory lists Central Sydney alongside other NSW offices. Use its current office information to identify the appropriate contact route, then explain the issue and ask how intake works. The presence of a central office does not establish that every service is available through an unbooked visit.

Our Sydney page uses the locality recorded on each listing. It does not mean every office in Greater Sydney is included. If you live or need to meet elsewhere in the metropolitan area, use the suburb index for that location. Make your first enquiry easier to answer

1. Write a short outline. Note the issue, relevant state, what help you want and dates already given to you. Keep a brief timeline; you can explain the detail once the office confirms its intake process.
2. Ask about fit and availability. Find out who would handle the work, whether they can discuss the timing and what an initial appointment costs. Mention any date on a notice at the start.
3. Agree how to share documents. Ask which documents are needed, whether reading them is included in the fee and which secure channel to use. Avoid sending a large confidential file to several unconfirmed contacts.
